WILD POTTERY

basic course

Recognizing and manipulating the earth around us

The workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to recognize clay in nature and manipulate it.

The first part of the day is devoted to anature hike where we will collect clay and understand the geology of the place. Simple preliminary field tests will be done to start learning about the earth and its properties.

Once in the workshop, we will learn to knead and master intuitive and primal manipulation techniques – such as pinching and coiling – so that we can work with clay.

In the studio, it will also be possible to experience other clays from the Piedmont area.

The workshop is designed for a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 10.

It lasts about 4 hours spread between the morning and early afternoon, with a 1-hour break for lunch.
