BACK TO EARTH.
GIULIA FORGIONE
The wild practice
Making pottery is an endless adventure between mysterious and inexplicable forces: matter and the senses. The body is the instrument of exploration that allows us to connect directly with the earth, letting ourselves be carried away by the wonder of working with the same material that stars are made of.
I will accompany you on this journey.
Local clays rocks and ash
Wild practice is the desire to know the world around us through direct experience, mediated by one’s senses. An act of great freedom.
Researching and experimenting with local materials connects me deeply to the land I inhabit, making me a participant in stories of rocks, plants and humans.

Ceramics
My ceramics serve as a profound connection to the places I journey through to gather materials
It is a slow journey—on foot through the woods, across small streams, and up the hills—just as slow as my way of making ceramics.
For each clay, rock, or ash, I test the best way to give them the greatest expressive potential, striving to adapt to the infinite diversity of the materials’ properties. The wonder I feel every time I encounter a new clay—so unique in its color, texture, scent, and geological history—makes me feel part of the mysterious natural processes that shape mountains, volcanoes, and seas.
The limited quantity of my creations reflects the way I gather natural resources, respecting the integrity of the places.
